The Story of a Boy and his Ghost

 

For BENZ CABELL (14) life is about the music. When he’s not jamming with friends on his electric guitar at a killer music academy, he’s working at his mother’s vintage record shop. Teen-aged angst is not Benz’s thing. When it comes to girls, grades and growing up, he makes his own rules as he goes along.

 

One fateful night Benz hacked the security system of a recording studio once owned by a dead rocker named BOOMER and the rock star’s ghost left with him. Now his life is anything but normal.  Boomer wants to be Benz’s Best Friend Forever with the emphasis on “forever”.

 

Boomer gets a rush from his mad ghost skills, especially when he uses them to drop the mic on anyone who messes with Benz’s vibe, which produces hilarious but often catastrophic results… and Benz’s dictatorial school principal is enemy number one!

 

The problem is where Boomer causes trouble, Benz has to take the rap because he’s the only one who can see him. No one, not even his two closest friends, GEE BARNES, a streetwise jokester and aspiring DJ and LORAH FREARS (14) an electric violinist who crushes hard on Benz, know the paranormal truth!

 

Boomer and Benz are the odd couple of the millennium but it’s a relationship that goes straight to the heart. Helping Benz gives Boomer something to remain undead for. And even though Benz is slow to admit it, Boomer is the totally delinquent, sometimes fun and massively insane Dad that Benz never had.
